Robert L. Hunt, age 95, a resident of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born on Feb. 5, 1916, in Rush County, near Carthage, to the late Elmer Hunt and Flora (Graham) Hunt.
He worked at Allisons during WWII and later was a mechanic and service writer for Monarch Buick. For most of his career he was an insurance adjuster for various companies, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Hancock Lodge #101 F&AM and The Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. He attended Trinity Park United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer and a 25 year member of a gospel quartet in Greenfield.
He is survived by his sons, Gary R. (Marcia) Hunt of Charlottesville, Dean S. (Mary Jane) Hunt of Greenfield, Alan J. (Carol) Hunt of Richmond, Ky.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hunt; three brothers; two sisters; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
