Louise Rachel Steele, age 92, died on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Golden Living Center-Brandywine in Greenfield. Born on April 19, 1919, in Pittsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Samuel Townsend and Marie Margretha (Stehle) Brown.
Surviving her are her son, Ronald Samuel (Stella) Steele of Indianapolis; daughter, Linda Louise (Terry) Snow of Greenfield; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and sister, Olive Margaret Morgan.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church in New Palestine. Pastor Mark Havel will be officiating.
