Delores A. (Fippen) Sewell, 72, passed away Friday July 8, 2011 at her home in Fortville. She was born Aug. 7, 1938 to the late George C. and Mae (Hiday) Fippen.
She worked at Brookside in McCordsville for 24 years and was a member and one-term President of the local Steelworkers Union. She was also a longtime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 391 and Fortville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Charles Sewell, whom she married on Jan. 5, 1980 at the Fortville United Methodist Church; daughter, Debbie (Fred) Allgood of Ingalls; son, Terry (Donetta) Woods of Indianapolis,son, Kevin (Lia) Woods of N.Y.; daughter, Angie (Larry) Meece of Greenfield; son Bryan C. (Lori) Sewell of Fishers; 11grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Susie) Fippen of Plainfield; John (Kathy) Fippen of McCordsville and Glenn (Loretta) Fippen of Tipton; sister, Phyllis (George) Ingram of Indianapolis; and sisters-in-laws, Shirley Fippen of Greenfield and Judy Fippen of Fla.
She was preceded in death by grandson, Jeremy Woods; and brothers, Jim and David Fippen.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday July 12, 2011 and an hour before service on Wednesday at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
