Edward O. Johnson, age 80, of New Palestine, passed away May 13, 2011. He was born July 7, 1930 in Indianapolis to the late Harry E. and Lela G. Nuding Johnson.

Ed was the owner of Indianapolis Electrotype Service since 1960, until his retirement in 2002. He was a lifetime member and friend of First Church of the Nazarene, was on the Board of Directors for Clyde Dupin Ministries, enjoyed mission trips to Haiti and Russia and was instrumental in building churches in the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. Ed was involved in Innerlight Ministries, was a volunteer for Shepherd Community, long time Kiwanis member and volunteer coach at the YMCA.

Ed is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary L. Johnson; daughter, Caryol Meyer; sons, Phil (Mindy), Jeff (Dana), and Kyle (Karen) Johnson; brother, Harry (Norma) Johnson; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at First Church of the Nazarene, 9401 E. 25th St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.
