Wilmer “Bill” L. Collier, 86, of Pittsboro, went to be with the Lord on Feb.12, 2011. He was born April 3, 1924 to the late Lawrence & Winnie Collier.
Bill served in the Navy aboard the USS Rinehart.
He married Mina Ashley in 1950. Bill worked for Western Electric and retired from Naval Avionics in 1979.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years; children, Wayne(Nancy) Collier, Karen(Greg) Mauer, and Nancy(Chuck) Venis, grandchildren, Justin(Jen) Collier, Kali Collier, Lindsey(Casey) Lissau, Stephen Griffith, Amanda(Neal) Mauer Taflinger, Zachary(Rochelle) Mauer, Adam & Alex Venis, great-grandchildren, Conor Davis & Delaney Collier, Abby & Brady Lissau, Zeke Taflinger and Lucy Mauer.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17 with visitation from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Connection Pointe Christian Church, where he was a member.
