Nellie Ruth (Stephens) Burrow, age 84, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011. Born on Nov. 21, 1926, in Rockview, Mo., she was the daughter of Elijah Otis and Ida M. (Geller) Stephens.
Nellie graduated from Princeton High School (Ind.) in 1944 and was married to Clinton C. Burrow who preceded her in death in 1988. Over the years, Mrs. Burrow worked for various companies including Hancock Ad News, Mitchell-Fleming Printing, and the Wal-Mart Pharmacy. She was a candidate for Hancock County Council in 1984. Nellie was a member of the Greenfield Christian Church and liked to do crossword puzzles, word searches, and spend time with her family.
Surviving her are her children, Jimmy L. (Nan) Wymer of Evansville, Bonnie (Robert) Wooten of Carthage, and Michael (Cherié) Burrow of Greenfield; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield, with visitation taking place from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East in Indianapolis. Reverend Glenn Kimball will be officiating.
