Frances Ilene Lambert, 79, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at the Kindred Hospital – South in Greenwood. The daughter of the late Less G. and L. Ethel (Wolfe) Kimberlin, Frances was born on March 26, 1931, in Rocky Gap, Bland County, Va.
Formerly of the Cambridge City, Ind. area, Frances lived in the Greenfield community for the past 53 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren. Frances had worked in the cafeteria at Fort Benjamin Harrison and waitressed in several Greenfield restaurants. She was involved in the local flea market business including Twin Aire, south of Indianapolis, where she sold glassware and jewelry.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda L. (Curtis) Steele of Beavercreek, Ohio; sons, Rev. Billy G. (Wilma F.) Lambert of Fortville and Timmy R. Lambert of Greenfield; granddaughter, Missy I. (Jimm) Sansabrino of Beavercreek, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda and Jessica Riggins, Enzo Sansabrino; great-great grandson, Kameron Riggins; siblings, George Kimberlin of Tazewell, Va., Joyce Carlson of Ga., Arlice Kimberlin of Greenfield, Bob Kimberlin of Trafalger and Jack Kimberlin of Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer "Ted" Lambert on August 30, 1989, whom she married in Harlan, Ky. on May 21, 1947. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dewey Kimberlin; sister, Dorothy Foist; and infant sister, Virginia.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 1993 Cumberland Stret, Dublin, IN 47335. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at the funeral home. The Reverends Robert Thompson and Billy G. Lambert will officiate. Burial will follow at the Zion's Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing.
