Andy Ray Hasler, age 59, of Morristown, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. Born on June 21, 1951, in Linton, he was the son of James O. and Janice C. (Gilbreath) Hasler.

Andy graduated from New Palestine High School in 1969 and earned a Bachelor’s degree from IU- Kelley School of Business in Indianapolis. He married Gretchen Smith on Aug. 6, 1988, in Morristown. Andy worked in accounting at the Defense Finance Accounting Services at Fort Benjamin Harrison for about 25 years. He also owned Video Junction in New Palestine for over ten years during the 1990’s. He was known as someone who was soft spoken and funny, always very genuine, and was very involved with the Shriners of Hancock County and the New Palestine Masonic Lodge. Andy was a member of the Murat Temple, the Scottish Rite, and the Greenfield York Rite. He was a die hard Cubs fan and loved the Indiana Hoosiers. He was also a very active member of the Morristown United Methodist Church.

Surviving him are his wife, Gretchen Hasler of Morristown; daughters, Carrie (Miller) (Lincoln) Thompson, Amy Miller, and Becca Miller, all of Morristown; granddaughters, Lindsay, Hannah, Lilli, and Bella; brother-in-law, Rob Smith of New Palestine; several cousins; one aunt; and one uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Nancy Ellen Hasler; and mother-in-law, Esther Smith.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with a Masonic service taking place at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at the mortuary, with Pastor Amy Artis officiating. Burial will take place at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
