Books can be donated to library for sale

GREENFIELD — If you have unwanted books at home, you can donate them at the Hancock County Public Library on Monday, Aug. 19, to help out the library and get a tax break.

Gently used books, DVDs, CDs and video game discs can be dropped off at the Greenfield branch of the library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A volunteer will assist when someone rings the bell. Please request a tax receipt at the same time.

Because of limited space, donations can only be made at specified times.

The Friends of the Library will have its quarterly book sale from August 22-26. Look for bargain books and other media on sale every day at the Greenfield and New Palestine branches. Most prices range from 50 cents to $2. The Friends now accept credit and debit cards as well as cash.

Proceeds from sales fund free concerts and children’s events at the library.
