GREENFIELD
Monte Lee Lopez, age 65, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021. He was born in Greenfield on June 26, 1956 to Lucio V. Lopez and Elizabeth (Wood) Lopez. He graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1975 and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He worked for Norle Investments Incorporated in Indianapolis for 20 years. He was a member of the Greenfield American Legion Post 119 and loved sports, especially basketball, football, and NASCAR.
Monte is survived by his loving sisters, Hazel (Harlan) Boyd, Julie (Kevin) Mayes, and Maria “Cricket” (Randy) Crawford; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. also at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Curry’s Chapel Cemetery in Greenfield.
