INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority announced that the deadline for Indiana homeowners to submit new applications for mortgage assistance through Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund is May 3.

Indiana was one of 19 states that received money from the U.S. Treasury to help homeowners avoid losing their homes to foreclosure because of the 2009 housing crisis. To date, Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund has provided more than $182.7 million of assistance to over 11,300 Indiana homeowners.
