County records COVID-19 death over weekend

HANCOCK COUNTY — The county reported a COVID-19 death on Sunday, bringing its total to 131.

The victim was a man in his 70s who died on Feb. 17, according to information from the Indiana State Department of Health.

Hancock County also added 22 novel coronavirus cases since last Friday, raising that total to 7,409. Another 156 tests recorded Monday brought that amount to 85,199.

Indiana’s additions Monday included 20 deaths, for a total of 12,162; 555 cases, for a total of 622,213; and 14,474 tests (dating back to last August), for a total of 8,035,726.

As of early Monday, 14,375 Hancock County residents had received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 8,512 were fully vaccinated. The state has surpassed 1 million first doses, and 569,465 have been fully vaccinated.
