Dean’s list announced at Olivet Nazarene University

BOURBONNAIS, IL — Cecily Best of McCordsville and Rebekah Cora of Greenfield were recently honored with inclusion on the dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University dean’s list. To make the list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale. Saxon earns academic honors at IU-Kokomo

KOKOMO — Joseph Saxon was one of 702 full-time Indiana University-Kokomo students to earn academic distinction for the spring semester. Chancellor’s list students earned a 4.0 grade point average, while dean’s list students earned a minimum 3.5 grade-point average on a scale of 4.0, while carrying at least 12 credit hours throughout the grading period. Holton Gwaltney named to dean’s list at Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pennsylvania — Holton Gwaltney, an exercise science major, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester. Holton is a 2018 graduate of New Palestine High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Gwaltney (Laurie) from New Palestine. University of Kentucky announces dean’s list

LEXINGTON, KY — The University of Kentucky has released its dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester. A total of 6,562 students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance, including McCordsville resident Abigail Faroute (majoring in kinesiology) and New Palestine resident Austin Flask (majoring in human health sciences). To make the dean’s list at the University of Kentucky, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher and must have earned 12 credits or more in that semester. Greenfield native named to university’s dean’s list

CEDARVILLE, OH — Jason Walls, Greenfield, was named to the dean’s list at Cedarville University. Walls is an intercultural studies major. This recognition required Walls to maintain a 3.5 minimum grade-point average and carry at least 12 credit hours for the spring 2019 semester. Trine University honors

ANGOLA — Cole Pierce of Greenfield was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 term at Trine University. To earn dean’s list honors, students must complete a minimum of 15 hours and have a grade-point average of 3.500-3.749. Pierce is majoring in biology.

Jennifer Flora and Trenton Roberts, Greenfield, were named to the Trine University president’s list. To earn president’s list honors, students must complete a minimum of 15 hours and have a grade point average of 3.75-4.00. Flora is majoring in biology, and Roberts is majoring in sports management. GREENCASTLE — The following local DePauw University students were named to the spring 2019 dean’s list: Michael Sosnowski and Benton Turner from Greenfield; Emily Howard, Clayton Troyer and Emily Troyer from McCordsville; and Mackenzie Jones, Natalie Kehrt and Grace Miles from New Palestine. students earn honors

GREENVILLE, South Carolina — The following students are among approximately 540 Bob Jones University students named to the President’s List for high academic achievement during the spring 2019 semester.

Paige Elmer, a junior elementary education major from Fountaintown, and Anna Johnson, a freshman nursing major from Greenfield, were named to the spring 2019 President’s List.

McCordsville student graduates from The Citadel

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Nicholas Wielbruda, McCordsville, earned a business administration degree from The Citadel. Wielbruda graduated during the South Carolina Corps of Cadets commencement ceremony on May 4 in McAlister Field House. McCordsville student earns athletic honor

DeKALB, Illinois — Northern Illinois University student-athlete Mia Lord, McCordsville, was recently named as a 2019 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Distinguished Scholar-Athlete as selected by MAC faculty athletics representatives.

Lord, a sophomore psychology major, earned a 3.96 grade-point average. As a member of the school’s gymnastics team, she specialized in the balance beam and helped lead Northern Illinois University to its first team MAC Gymnastics Championship in school history.

Williams graduates from West Point academy

WEST POINT, New York — Grant Williams, son of Craig and Heather Williams of Greenfield, recently graduated from West Point United States Military Academy.

A member of Mt. Vernon High School’s Class of 2015, Grant majored in military history with an environmental engineering track (minor).

He will be commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Regular Army, as an aviation officer, with his first assignment to Aviation School at Ft. Rucker, Alabama.
