HHC announces all-conference baseball team

GREENFIELD — The Hoosier Heritage Conference announced its all-conference baseball team on Wednesday, and nine Hancock County athletes were selected, three from each team.

HHC champion Greenfield-Central is represented by the conference’s batting average leader, senior Blake Wilson, along with junior pitcher Adam Hutchison and sophomore Carson Gibson.

Cougars coach Mark Vail was named the conference’s Coach of the Year.

New Palestine is represented by two seniors, Jack Walker and Colby Jenkins, along with sophomore Noah Mack.

Mt. Vernon juniors Jake Stadler and Nolan Bowser also were selected, as was Marauders sophomore Hunter Dobbins.

All of the conference’s regular-season leaders were represented on the team — batting average leader Wilson (.453), home runs co-leaders Hutchison and Keaton Mahan of Delta (3), RBI leader Mahan (27), runs leader Jenkins (30) and stolen base king Bowser (20). Pitching-wise, Pendleton Heights’ Walker Stull led in wins (6), strikeouts (72) and ERA (0.91).
