‘Beauty and the Beast’ comes to Eastern Hancock

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Eastern Hancock High School presents Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” May 3, 4 and 5 at Eastern Hancock High School, 10320 E. County Road 250N. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7 p.m. The Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. Relive the story of Belle as she is first held prisoner by the Beast and eventually falls in love with him. Two schools to present ‘High School Musical’

FORTVILLE — Mt. Vernon Theatre presents Disney’s “High School Musical,” April 25 to 28 at Mt. Vernon High School, 8112 N. County Road 200W. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances start at 7 p.m. The Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. The story follows the travails of Troy Bolton, star athlete at a small-town high school, falls for nerdy beauty Gabriella Montez at a holiday karaoke party. The two decide to audition for the upcoming school musical. Meanwhile, jealous Sharpay Evans conspires against them. Troy and Gabriella struggle to make it to auditions while also meeting their existing obligations to the basketball team and the academic decathlon. ‘She Kills Monsters’

NEW PALESTINE — New Palestine High School presents a high school adaptation of “She Kills Monsters,” April 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. and April 28 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at New Palestine High School, 4485 S. Victory Drive. The play introduces us to Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes discovers Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this dramatic comedy features homicidal fairies, nasty ogres and ’90s pop culture. Tickets are $8 at the door.
