Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse recognizes outstanding supporters

GREENFIELD — On Nov. 16, Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse held its annual meeting to celebrate community accomplishments in 2018.

NASA recognized several community members and organizations for their work to make Hancock County a safer, healthier place to live and work: Gina Colclazier received the 2018 Stephen T. Dyer Community Service Award; Sarah Burke was recognized for 19 years of Board Service and work with NASA’s Youth Council; 13 fifth- and sixth-graders received awards for being selected as winners of NASA’s 2019 calendar contest; 2 Community Partners (BBQ’n Fools and NineStar Connect) received recognition for their support of NASA and other community organizations working to reduce substance abuse among youth and adults in our community; and 16 grant recipients were announced for 2019 Local Drug Free Community Fund awards.

At the 2018 annual meeting, Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse awarded grants to programs dedicated to drug prevention and education, treatment and intervention and criminal justice services.
