GREENFIELD — Crystal Peterson, a sophomore at Greenfield-Central High School, has been selected to represent the state of Indiana and compete in the track and field Down Under Sports Tournaments hosted on the Gold Coast of Australia.
Peterson was a county champ in the long jump and the 100 meter hurdles last year. She broke the school record in the 300 meter hurdles and was a state qualifier in that event. She was selected for the international competition based on her performances throughout the year.
Peterson will have to personally raise the $5,000 cost of the trip, and is asking local businesses to consider donating. Her family can be reached at [email protected].
