HANCOCK COUNTY — The Schwier family conducted its 71st annual family reunion earlier this month.
Those in attendance are descendants of the 10 children of Friedrich Wilhelm and Christine Marie Lenore (Rosener) Schwier, whose farm is located in New Palestine.
The family now has six generations and had 141 family members attend the reunion designed for family members to celebrate and share their heritage.
Recognition was given to Don Schwier, 94, the oldest person present and a second generation Schwier, as well as the youngest person present, Keating Louise Bevis, born June 13.
Some family members came as far away as Georgia, while many others still live in Hancock County.
