Max G. Sitton
Max G. Sitton, 89, of Norfolk, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2017.
He retired from the Marine Corps after 20 years of service on August 31, 1966.
He worked for NARF LF-18 in Civil Service until March 1983 retiring after 17 years.
Max volunteered with the American Red Cross beginning in April 1983, and with Depaul Hospital beginning in August 1991. Max joined the Masonic Lodge of Elizabeth 34 in October 1989, as well as the Westminster Chapter 99 Order of the Eastern Star in March 1990, and was a Worth Patron three times. Max will be cherished by his nieces, Barbara Phillips of Ocala, Fla., and Joan Modglin of Greenfield, and his long time, treasured friend, Mae La Shier.
There will be a funeral service starting at 11 a.m., Friday, June 2, at Smith and Williams Norfolk with a one hour visitation prior to the service. There will be a burial in Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 3 p.m.
