HANCOCK COUNTY — On April 9, the Brandywine Creek Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution awarded their DAR Good Citizens from each of the participating Hancock County high schools.
They are Lindsey McDaniels from Eastern Hancock High School; Samantha Stanley from Greenfield-Central High School; and Madeline King from Mt. Vernon High School. Each participant receives $100 in prize money except for the Hancock County winner, who receives $200. This year, the Hancock County DAR Good Citizen was Samantha Stanley from Greenfield-Central High School. She has been selected by the Indiana State DAR to be a finalist at the state level. The winner of the Indiana DAR State Good Citizen contest will move on to the National DAR contest, where more money is available.
