Daniel “Danny” L. Mayhugh, 73, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation – Greenfield. He was born on October 13, 1943, in South Hill, Ky., as the son of Hiram D. and Earnestine (Chatman) Mayhugh.
Danny graduated from Wilkinson High School. He married Jane E. (Droeger) on January 24, 1964, in Hancock County.
He worked for IMI as a mixer driver for over 30 years before retiring. Mr. Mayhugh was a member of Greenfield Moose Lodge, Greenfield Conservation Club and Greenfield FOP. He liked spending time fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching IU Basketball, NASCAR, and old westerns.
Danny is survived by his wife, Jane Mayhugh of Greenfield; son, Lee (Brenda) Mayhugh of Greenfield; daughter, Missy (Kevin) Swango of Pendleton; brother, Joe (Linda) Mayhugh of Greensburg; sister, Edith Loftus of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Jackie, Ashley, and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Earnestine Mayhugh; infant son, Daniel Lee Mayhugh; brother, Jimmie Mayhugh; and sister, Luzette Mayhugh.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 10, at the mortuary. Chaplain Russ Jarvis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
