Donald R. Cushman, 82, of Fortville, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 27, 1934, in Fortville to Ralph and Laura Leone (Ross) Cushman and was a 1952 graduate of the old Fortville High School.
Don served in the Army in Korea. He had worked in Security at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1990 after 33 years of service. Don served on the Fortville Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of the Fortville F&AM #207 and the Fortville Jaycees. He enjoyed going to auctions, collecting and refurbishing old tools and collecting coins.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Wethington) Cushman, whom he married on August 11, 1957; sons, Don (Nancy) Cushman II and Scott (Laura) Cushman; grandchildren, Kyle (Kylie) Cushman, Brian (Elizabeth) Cushman, Cody (fiancée, Destiny) Cushman, Sarah (Zach) VanDuzer, and Andrew Rettig; and great-grandson, Eli VanDuzer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Peggy Richcreek.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
