FOUNTAIN CITY — The Eastern Hancock Royals were looking to get back on a winning track Friday night, but the Northeastern Knights had other ideas.

Trailing 12-3 after the first quarter, head coach Aaron Spaulding’s Royals muscled back to take a brief second-half lead, but Class 2A No. 2 Northeastern prevailed in the end, winning 58-52.

Addison True led the 2A Royals (2-3) with a team-high 18 points followed by A.J. Muegge with 13 points. Brycen Napier had 10 points and Duncan Cherry chipped in seven as Eastern Hancock dropped its second straight.

The Royals lost to 2A No. 4 Indianapolis Howe 85-60 last Saturday at home.

The Knights improved to 4-0 and held a six-point lead entering the final eight minutes. The Royals clawed back, however, and held a 28-27 lead at one point in the third quarter.

Eastern Hancock returns to the court Dec. 16 to face rival Knightstown on the road.
