James “Jim” Larry Cecil, 75, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at his home. He was born on May 25, 1941, in Hancock County as the son of James E. and Lula M. (Caffey) Cecil.
He graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1959. He married Jacqueline Kaye (Clark) on May 2, 2010, in Greenfield.
Jim worked as a security guard for Western Electric for many years before retiring. He was a past member of Brandywine Cruisers and the Indy 500 Motorcycle Club. Jim enjoyed welding and building vehicles and trailers, including a 1934 Ford. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jackie Cecil; son, Brian Cecil; stepsons, Chris (April) Fetz and Andrew Fetz; sister, Sharla Griffith; and three grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lula Cecil; son, Larry Cecil; and sister, Karen Brougher.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. also at the mortuary. Rev. Mike Manning will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
