GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Memorial Building, 98 E. North St., Greenfield, is now handicapped-accessible, officials said.

County invested about $28,000 to make the building more accessible.

A wheelchair ramp with handrails was recently added to the west entrance to the facility and chair lifts have been installed to help visitors get up and down the stairs in the building.

An array of service organizations are housed in the building, including Mental Health Partners, the county’s veterans services office and Families First. Leaders of those organizations recommend calling ahead to make an appointment with the organization before visiting.
