NEW PALESTINE — A car accident has closed all lanes of U.S. 40 and Manor Drive between county roads 600W and 700W.

Traffic is being diverted around the wreck while crews clean the debris. Four people were transported to the hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in the accident, police said.

The accident began when one driver, eastbound on U.S. 40, stopped and was waiting to make a left-hand turn onto Manor Drive. Another driver struck his car, starting a chain reaction that ultimately involved four vehicles, officers said.
