All-sports program offered at Riley Park

The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Pee Wee All-Sports developmental program next month. The four-week program will begin Aug. 1 and continue each Monday until Aug. 22.

Sessions run from 6 to 7 p.m. at the open field to the left of the Riley Park entrance on U.S. 40. Classes will last 45 to 60 minutes in length.

The program is for children ages 3 to 5 and will cost $20 for residents and $25 for people who do not live in Greenfield.

Dragons hitting mat for annual wrestling camp

New Palestine is conducting its wrestling camp beginning Monday. The camp will run through Thursday.

Students currently in grades 1 through 4 will practice from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Those in fifth through eighth grades will train at the same time.

Each session will take place inside the New Palestine High School wrestling room.

Feeling the heat: Indians put safety 1st

Due to expected high temperatures and heat indexes in Central Indiana, fans who attend Indianapolis Indians games today through Sunday are allowed to bring bottled water into Victory Field. Approved bottled water containers are 20 oz. or smaller.

Start your engines for Brickyard 400 festivites

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard will go green Sunday afternoon, but both Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series drivers will be at the track throughout the weekend.
