Mt. Vernon’s Sydney Shelton and the 2016 Indiana All-Stars are nearing their annual series with Kentucky this coming weekend but not before their traditional warmup games against the Indiana Junior All-Stars.

The All-Star exhibition games featuring the Indiana Seniors vs. the Indiana Juniors will be Tuesday at Bloomington South High School and Thursday at Lebanon High School.

The girls’ game each night will begin at 6 p.m., with the boys’ game to follow.

The Senior All-Stars will conclude the week with games against the Kentucky All-Stars on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s doubleheader will begin with the girls at 5 p.m. at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Sunday’s games, starting at 1 p.m., will be at Knights Hall on the campus of Bellarmine University in Louisville. This is the 21st year of exhibition games between the Indiana Seniors and Indiana Juniors. The Senior boys lead the Junior boys 35-8. The Senior girls lead the Junior girls 33-10.

The Indiana All-Star senior boys series with Kentucky dates to 1940, while the All-Star senior girls began playing Kentucky in 1976.

The Indiana boys lead their series 93-42. The Indiana girls lead their series 45-35.

Shelton, a Butler recruit, is Hancock County’s all-time career leading scorer in girls basketball.

The Junior south boys roster includes Michael Ertel of Mt. Vernon, who will play against the Indiana All-Stars in Bloomington.

Greenfield-Central’s Madison Wise is on the girls Junior All-Star core group of six players that will play in both exhibition games. Cougars’ teammate Katie Helgason is part of the Junior south group and will compete in Bloomington.

Indiana All-Star key dates

Tuesday: Junior-Senior All-Star game at Bloomington South (Girls, 6 p.m.; boys, to follow). Tickets are $6 each and available at the door.

Thursday: Junior-Senior All-Star game at Lebanon High School (Girls, 6 p.m.; boys, to follow). Tickets are $6 each and available at the door.

Saturday: Indiana vs. Kentucky at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis—(Girls, 5 p.m.; boys, to follow). Tickets are $100, $22, $18 or $7. Tickets are available at the BLF box office or through TicketMaster.

Sunday: Indiana at Kentucky at Knights Hall, Bellarmine College, Louisville. (Girls, 1 p.m.; boys, to follow). Tickets are $12 each and available at www.bluegrasssports.org.
