SHELBYVILLE — The Hancock County Community Foundation will host a fundraiser at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino, 4300 N Michigan Rd, Shelbyville, with registration beginning at 4:45 p.m. May 21.

The event will benefit the Women’s Fund of Hancock County, said De’Von Kissick-Kelly, director of the Women’s Resource Center in Greenfield.

It’s the second time the fundraiser is being conducted at the location, and promises to be a great time, Kissick-Kelley said.

“It’s a blast,” she said. “It’s outside, and you’re right there by the track.”

Attendees will get to watch the Preakness Stakes, the middle jewel of racing’s Triple Crown, on a live broadcast from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. A three-course meal will be served, and there will be many chances to win raffle prizes.

The Women’s Fund is divided equally between a long-term investment in the community and immediate impact: The Irene Walrod Curry Endowment for the Women’s Fund, and in 2016, the Women’s Resource Center of Hancock County.

Tickets are $40 each, and there are various corporate sponsorship opportunities available. Visit givehcgrowhc.org to donate or purchase tickets.
