William A. “Bill” Adams, Sr., 88, of Indianapolis, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016. He was born on May 23, 1927, in Corbin, Ky., as the son of James and Amanda (Jenkins) Adams.
Bill is survived by his son, Bill Adams, Jr. of Indianapolis; daughters, Darlene Wilcher of Wanamaker, Ind, Charlotte Cox of Wanamaker, Ind. and Diana Edlin of Beech Grove; sister, Virginia Carrol of Corbin, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; many great- grandchildren and several great- great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Amanda Adams; wife, Irene Adams; daughters, Janet Wilcher and Karen “Susie” Hunt; a granddaughter and four brothers, Tobey, Chester, Mark and Matt Adams.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at the mortuary. Chaplain Mark Watkins will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
