Property tax payments deadline upcoming
HANCOCK COUNTY — The deadline to pay property taxes — Nov. 10 — is approaching.
Payments can be made at the Hancock County Treasurer’s Office at the Hancock County Courthouse Annex, Suite 205, 111 American Legion Place, Greenfield, online or by mail. They may also be paid at Star Bank in Greenfield, 230 E. New Road, and in Shirley, 310 Main St.
Office hours to pay taxes in person are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will be closed Tuesday for Election Day. It will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 7. There also is a drop box located at the front doors of the annex; payments can be dropped off there until midnight the day of the deadline.
Payments can be mailed to the treasurer’s office but must be postmarked by Nov. 10 or they will be considered late.
Property taxes also can be paid online at hancockcoingov.org. A convenience fee of $3.95 or 2.75 percent will be charged.
