Dragons win again

The New Palestine volleyball team improved to 22-5 and 3-3 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference with a 3-0 sweep of Shelbyville on Tuesday night.

The Dragons won 25-17, 25-21, 25-16.

Mia Long recorded a double-double with 15 digs and 12 kills. Allison Dennemann had 11 kills and 12 digs.

Katlyn Keele posted 16 digs and seven kills while Kara Morris dished out 35 assists.

The Dragon JV team lost 16-25, 20-25, 15-13.

Cougars fall to HSE

Greenfield-Central fell to Hamilton Southeastern 3-0 on Tuesday night.

The loss drops the Cougars to 17-9 on the season.

HSE won the match 25-19, 25-17, 25-17.

Laura Banton finished with nine service points, five kills and a dig. Courtney Marchello had six digs and two assists.

Rachel Irbe led the offense with 10 kills and two solo blocks. She also had four digs.

Molly Broome contributed a team-best 14 assists for the Cougars.

Marauders earn sweep

Mt. Vernon honored its seniors Tuesday night with a decisive 3-0 sweep of Noblesville.

Mary Grace Ertel and Teresa Bond were celebrated for their accomplishments and both contributed as the Marauders won 25-19, 29-27, 25-22.

Ertel had 19 kills and a season-high 21 digs. She was recognized for being the first Mt. Vernon player to have more than 800 kills and 800 digs in a career with 804 and 864, respectively.

Meridan Eads set 36 assists in the win and added 12 digs and three aces. Jaclyn Bulmahn chipped in 22 kills. Julia Wayer added 19 digs.

Bulldogs beat Royals

The Eastern Hancock Royals lost to Lapel 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The Royals lost the first set 25-8 and the second 25-15 before scoring a 25-21 win in the third. Lapel won the finale 25-18.

Leah Ferguson led the Royals with eight kills. Haley Best had three aces and four digs.
