New Palestine parent meeting this week

On Thursday, the New Palestine High School athletics department is hosting an All Sports Meeting to open the fall sports season.

The informational meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. inside the auditorium.

The school’s coaches and athletics department will conduct the event, sharing key information pertaining to the upcoming seasons.

All parents and players involved in fall sports, or any sport this school year, are encouraged to attend. Each fall sports coach will speak during the meeting.

All sports passes will be available for purchase during the event, along with new Athletic Booster Club memberships, apparel and more.

Dragons sports passes available for purchase

All sports passes for the 2015-16 seasons are now available in the New Palestine athletics office for students and adults.

Student passes are available for $65, and adult passes are $80. A family pass option is available for purchase for a family of four or more.

Each pass is good for all home events excluding tournaments. This year each pass will include a Lucas Oil ticket for New Palestine’s football game against Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19.

Plus, sponsor discounts are available with each pass.

Booster club creating special senior section

The New Palestine High School Athletic Booster Club is creating a special “Senior Messages” advertising section in the 2015-16 sports programs. The new section will feature ads with special messages to the athletes of the Class of 2016, as well as those in marching band, winter percussion and pep band.

Those interested will be able to purchase the $25 ads and write a three-line message for the student.

The deadline for Class of 2016 Senior Message ad submissions is Monday, Aug. 10. The ads will be featured in both the fall and winter programs. Customers may place an order in person at Thursday’s All Sports Meeting at the high school or via email to booster club president Melisa Duffy at [email protected].

Eastern Hancock sets meeting for parents

The Eastern Hancock athletics department is hosting an informational parent meeting Wednesday night.

Parents and families with student-athletes participating in sports at the high school and middle school levels are invited to attend.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will take place in the high school auditorium.

Special Olympics fundraisers planned

The Hancock County Special Olympics is conducting a fundraiser tonight at all Mozzi’s Pizza locations in the county.

From 5 to 8 p.m., 20 percent of the purchases made at Mozzi’s Pizza will be donated to Hancock County Special Olympics. A flyer must be presented with your order and payment to benefit the organization.

On Aug. 13, the Hancock County Special Olympics is conducting a similar fundraiser at the Dairy Queen in Greenfield.

The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m. No flyer is necessary. Supporters can participate by dining in or by using the drive-thru.

Greenfield-Central soccer to host tourney

The Cougars varsity soccer program will host a foot golf tournament this Saturday at the Shekinah Footgolf Course in Greenfield.

The cost is $15 per player if registered in advance or $20 at the door.

Sponsorship options are available. Donors can give $500 and will receive recognition prominently displayed at registration, on one tee and in all advertising. The other option is a $50 donation, which includes recognition displayed on one tee.

Tee times range from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
