‘Strike Out Drugs’ bowling fundraiser coming soon

A “Strike Out Drugs” bowling fundraiser for Hancock County DARE, Celebrate Recovery and Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse programs is scheduled for Sept. 12.

The event is from 5 to 9 p.m. at Strike Force Lanes, 1539 W. Main St., Greenfield.

Teams of four will participate in 100 frames of bowling, garnering donations per frame.

An individual or business can sponsor a team of four at $1 per frame, totaling a $100 donation.

The team which garners the most in donations for the event will have the opportunity to identify their Hancock County charity of choice to received 10 percent of the profits from the team donations.

All other profits will be split evenly among the three agencies.

Individuals and business can sponsor a lane at $50.

Indianapolis Downtown Canal Dyed Purple: The City of Indianapolis will dye the downtown canal purple at 2:30 p.m. in recognition of Jeff Kyle Day. The event will honor Sergeant Kyle and all past and present men and women of our nation’s military. This event is free and the public is invited to attend.
