Aplha Lambda Delta Honor Society inducts new members

HANCOCK COUNTY — Franklin College’s chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society for First-Year Students inducted 40 freshmen recently, including several students from Hancock County.

Students with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher their first semester, which also qualifies them for the Dean’s List, are invited to join ALD in the spring.

Local 2015 ALD inductees include Caitlyn Cherry, daughter of Chris and Cristi Cherry of New Palestine, who will serve as social chair next year; Lauren Harmon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harmon of Greenfield, who will serve as treasurer next year; and Cassidy Cherry, daughter of Chris and Cristi Cherry of New Palestine.

Founded in 1834, Franklin College is a residential, liberal arts institution located 30 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis. The college offers its approximately 1,000 students bachelor of arts degrees in 55 majors from 25 academic disciplines, 41 minors, 11 pre-professional programs and four cooperative programs.
