Sue Ann (Myer) Wortman, 81, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015. She was born on March 23, 1934, in Rush County as the daughter of Fred L. and Frances E. (Kuhn) Myer.
She graduated from Morristown High School in 1952 and received her degree from Elkhart University. Sue married James Robert “Bob” Wortman on Sept. 22, 1957 in Morristown.
After college, she began her career as a lab technician, but marriage and family changed her future plans. She became a co-owner and full partner in the many Wortman family businesses and endeavors. Sue was a member of Morristown United Methodist Church and founding charter member of MNO (Mother’s Night Out) Extension Homemaker’s Club.
Sue is survived by her husband, Bob Wortman of Morristown; daughter, Lisa (Stephen) Bridges of Morristown and many loving, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred L. and Frances E. (Kuhn) Myer; son, Jay Lee Wortman; infant son, Jeffery Lyall Wortman and sister, Mrs. Robert “Jean” Clark.
Visitation will be held at 2 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015, at the mortuary with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jeri Barrett-Thomas will be officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
