William Curtis “Bill” Carlton, 79, of Morristown, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at his residence. He was born June 26, 1935, in New Palestine, the son of Elmer R. and Florence B. (Noe) Carlton. On March 9, 1957 in Germany, he married his wife, of 58 years, Beverlee Unger. Bill graduated from Morristown High School in 1953. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in 1956 and 1957.

Bill was a member of Gwynneville United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Morristown Masonic Lodge No. 193. He was formerly a member of the Morristown Lions Club, serving as Past president, secretary and treasurer; and a past member of Morristown Chamber of Commerce.

He was a lifelong farmer. Bill formerly worked at Gwynneville Feed and Seed and drove a school bus for 32 years for Morristown High School in Shelby Eastern School District. He and Beverlee owned and operated Frazier Funeral Home in Morristown until retiring.

Bill was the scorekeeper for the Morristown High School basketball team for 15 years and was the Institutional Representative of Cub Scouts.

Bill is survived by his wife; sons, Jeffery Allen (Kim) Carlton and Douglas Dean (Betty) Carlton, both of Morristown, and Bruce William (Kelly) Carlton, of Arlington; brothers, Robert E. (Toni) Carlton and Gene W. (Patty) Carlton, both of Morristown; sister, Joann I. (Lynn) Tyner, of Morristown; sister-in-law, Patricia Carlton of Morristown; grandchildren, Kreigh Carlton, Lacy Carlton, Bryce Carlton, Jacob Carlton, Kaylin Carlton, Heath Carlton, Melia (Nathan) Rude, Chelsy (Adam) White, James Hadley and Melissa Hadley; great-grandchildren, Trevon, Olivia, Nadia, Brynn, Braxton, Broden, Aiden, Colin and Nevaeh; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Krissy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard A. Carlton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the funeral home, with Pastor Nick Keaton officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
