Mary Cornelia Riley Maddy Stockton, 76, of New Castle met Jesus face to face Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Glen Oaks Health Campus with her family by her side. She was born April 26, 1939, in Glasgow, Ky., to the late Wilson Cordell and Rachel Jean (Grissom) Riley.

Mary was a 1956 graduate from Cadiz High School. In November of 1956, she married Sanford Leo Maddy in Sulphur Springs, Ind., they were married 20 years, before his passing. In 1978, she married Kenneth Stockton.

Mary is a former member of Sugar Grove Methodist Church and Nettle Creek Church. Mary was previously employed at Henry County Hospital as an administrative assistant, Hooks Drug Store, Kresge’s Department Store, First Florida Bank as a teller and a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed gospel music, knitting, quilting, crafting, gardening, canning. She loved animals, spending time in Florida, but mostly being with her family.

Mary is survived by her husband, Kenneth Stockton of Greenfield; children, Lisa Kay Maddy (John) James of Spiceland, Lenny (Penny) Maddy of Hagerstown, Tracy (Wendy) Maddy of Fishers, Troy (Kimberly) Maddy of North Port, Fla.; stepchildren, Kim (Mark) Stockton Borinsky of Pendleton, Mylon (Trina) Stockton of Noblesville; grandchildren, Matthew and Adam James, Heath, Seth, Clint, Cody, Conner, Ethan, and Garrett Maddy; Christopher and Jonathan Borinsky; great- grandchildren, Keaton and Maelynn James; siblings, Thelma (Othal) Morrow of Bradenton, Fla., Wilson Riley Jr. of Tenn. and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her first husband, Sanford Maddy; granddaughter, Bethany Marie James and sister, Barbara Jean Riley Hood.

Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. at the church. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at New Testament Church of Christ in Hagerstown.
