Tri Kappa attends state convention

INDIANAPOLIS — Members of the Hancock County Tri Kappa sorority recently attended the 61st Tri Kappa state convention in Indianapolis.

The group is part of a statewide philanthropic organization known for its work with charity, culture and education. It has nearly 8,500 members in 144 active and 113 associate chapters in Indiana.

The Greenfield Upsilon chapter was established in 1906 and now has 68 members. Its projects include a doughnut booth at the Hancock County 4-H Fair, Vera Bradley bingo, holiday bingo, nut sales, butterbraid sales and bridge-a-rama.

Donations to the local community have been made to Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, local food pantries, Women Helping Women, Meals on Wheels, Women’s Fund of Hancock County, Boys and Girls Club, Pennsy Trail Art Fair and Music Festival, Will Vawter Art Show and Competition, college scholarships to local graduates and many local nonprofit groups.
