GREENFIELD — An Indianapolis teenager was arrested early Tuesday after police said he had a sexual relationship with an underage girl.

Johnathan Hansen, 19, faces a Class D felony charge of sexual misconduct with a minor, according to charging documents.

Hansen and the girl reportedly were visiting the S&H Campground in Hancock County with friends and family June 15 when the incident occurred. The girl later told her parents that she had engaged in sexual acts with Hansen while the two were alone together in a wooded area.

Hansen was 18 at the time.

Hansen reportedly had been spending a lot of time alone with the victim while at the campground, prompting the girl’s father to talk with Hansen before the incident.

The father reportedly warned Hansen that the victim was too young to be involved in a relationship with someone Hansen’s age.

The girl told her parents that she and Hansen discussed their age difference before their encounter, court documents state.

Hansen was being held in the Hancock County Jail on Tuesday and was expected to have his initial hearing before Hancock Circuit Judge Richard Culver on Tuesday afternoon.
