HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Food Pantry is accepting winter and hygiene items, which can be placed in marked barrels at the Hancock County Public Library’s Greenfield and New Palestine branches.
During cold and flu season, families appreciate chicken noodle soup, tissues and canned fruit (especially pineapple and mandarin oranges, which tend to be children’s favorites).
Since food stamps don’t cover basic hygiene items, many clients need laundry detergent, bath soap, dish liquids, toothpaste, shampoo and deodorant. Currently, the shelves are empty of these items.
