Ervin Lewis Colestock, 76, of Fountaintown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1938, in Philadelphia, Ind., as the son of Clarence and Ruth (Land) Colestock.

He graduated from New Palestine High School in 1956. He served in the Army. Ervin married Sandy (Miller) on May 30, 1957, in New Palestine.

He worked for Eli Lilly for 36 years before retiring.  Ervin owned and loved his peach orchard and was known as the “Peach Man” at the local farmers market. He was a lifelong hunter and outdoors man and enjoyed hunting deer and turkey.  He was a hunter safety instructor and loved nature. He also enjoyed gardening, horticulture, fishing, and wood working.

Ervin is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Colestock of Fountaintown; daughters, Kim (Chris) Everhart of Morristown; Lisa (John) Borinstein of Fairland, Ind., and Lori (Ted) Starkey of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Donald Colestock of Cumberland; sisters, Marion Banfill of Philadelphia, Ind., and Maggie Colestock Kennedy of North Glenn, Colo.; grandchildren, Drew, Luke, Beau, Emma, Carly, Lewis, Brandon, Jonathan, Sarah, and Joshua; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Cora, Tessa, Eliza, and Emma.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Abe and parents, Clarence and Ruth (Land) Colestock.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.  A funeral service will be held at  2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, also at the mortuary. Pastor Jeri Barrett Thomas will be officiating. A private burial will follow.
