William E. Mickler, 79, of Indianapolis, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 21, 1935, in Pennsylvania as the son of William J. and Grace (Gilligan) Mickler.
He served in the Army. William married Barbara (Carter) on July 4, 1960, in Indianapolis.
William is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Carter) Mickler; sons, William J. (Barbie) and Bernie; daughters, Elizabeth and Bernadette (Jim) McDonald; brother, Jim (Sherry); sisters, Gracie Goodpastor and Mary Margaret (Jim) Mattingly; and 3 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 East 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219. Msgr. Paul Kotter will be officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
