Robert R. "Bobby" Spiker, Jr., 56, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at his Arlington, Ind. residence. The son of Robert R. Spiker, Sr. and Anna Alberta (Sleeth) Spiker, Bobby was born July 15, 1955, in Hancock County.

Bobby worked for Central Engineering & Construction Association for more than 30 years. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers and attended the Arlington Christian Church.

After New Palestine High School, Bobby found a love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the Teamsters, hunting mushrooms, teasing the kids, and the weekly Sunday breakfast at the Donut Shop in Rushville.

Bobby is survived by his father, Robert; daughters, Marlisa Spiker (Kevin Swinehart) and Starr Hinton; sons, Rex A. (Monica) Spiker, Justin (Jaimee) Spiker, and Tyler Spiker. Bobby was blessed with nine brothers and sisters, Tommy (Linda) Spiker, Barry Spiker, Mike (Ruth) Spiker, James (Carolyn) Spiker, Theresa (George) Spiker, Kevin Spiker, Russell (Becky) Spiker, Walter ( Kathy) Spiker, and Dawn (Jerry) Hallgarth; also, five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and 128 nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main Street in New Palestine. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
