Eleanor K. Smith Brumfield, age 67, of Wilkinson, and Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011. She was born on March 26, 1944, in Kokomo, Ind. to Richard W. and Lila (Thurmond) Smith.

Eleanor graduated from Kokomo H.S. and Ball State University. She married David L. Brumfield in 1964. Eleanor and David co-founded their family business, Dave's Pools in Greenfield over 30 years ago. She was passionate about her work and known for her unique Christmas designs and decor. She was a longtime member and former Board of Director of the National Spa and Pool Institute. Eleanor enjoyed being with family, shopping, and spending time with friends on the beach.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, David L. Brumfield; children, Dodie (Scott) Kirby of Wilkinson, Chris (Christy) Brumfield of Greenfield; grandchildren, Lindsey Kirby, Bradley Kirby, Clayton Brumfield; sisters, Marcia (David) Day of Kokomo, Ind., Marie (Larry) Stephenson of Bloomington, Ind.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

A celebration of her life is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary, 1484 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield. Services will start at 5:30 p.m.
