William LeRoy“Roy” Vandenbroeck 86 of Ingalls, passed away July 8, 2011. He was born Oct. 17, 1924 in Indianapolis to the late Edward and Mary Vandenbroeck.

Roy is survived by Dortha, his loving wife of 60 years; Children, Elaine (Joseph) Hall, Linda (Michael) Baker, David (Yingxia), Vincent (Barbara), William (Machelle) Vandenbroeck, Rebecca (Joseph) White, Rachel (Andrew) Mitchel; sister, Mabel Sullivan; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son, Daniel LeRoyVandenbroeck; grandson, Daniel BenjaminVandenbroeck and daughter-in-law Christine Vandenbroeck.

Roy was a member of Indianapolis First Church of the Nazarene. He was a WWII veteran serving with the United States Marine Corps. and was a member of the American Legion. His lifelong passions included playing billiards, gardening and traveling. He especially enjoyed river boat cruises on the Mississippi with his beloved wife. He retired as a Tool &Die maker in 1970.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Center at Memorial Park9350 E Washington St.and from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Fortville Church of the Nazarene 701 S Maple, Fortville. Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church with Rev. Don Brewer and Rev. Phil Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
