Clenis (Wright) Jones Fields, 92, of Greenfield, formerly of Ingalls, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022. She was born April 30, 1930, in Co-operative, Kentucky to Dewey L. and Laura (York) Wright. Clenis was a homemaker but had also worked in the cafeteria at Western Electric and at Fort Harrison Finance and Accounting Center.

Clenis was a homeroom mother at Ingalls Grade School for many years; part-time resident at Walnut Ridge Campground in New Castle, IN where she spent many summers as a member of the “Golf Cart Gang”. She made many friends, enjoyed RVing, and participated in quite a few parades. Clenis attended grade school and high school in Robbins, TN, and cosmetology school in Knoxville, TN.

Clenis is survived by children: Ronald L. Jones, Anderson, Nancy (Jones) Phillips, Indianapolis, Jack E. Jones, Carmel, Rebecca A. (Jones) Fields, Columbus, GA, and Russell A. Jones, Straughn, IN. Seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Eight stepchildren: Merl L. Fields Jr, Jeffrey A. Fields, Kathy (Fields) Haskett, Karen (Fields) Mattox, Christina (Fields) Fish, Nancy (Fields) Ladd and John Fields. Ten step-grandchildren and quite a few step-great grandchildren. She also had numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by husband Marion R. Jones in 1973, husband Merl L. Fields Sr in 2009, daughter Jill L. (Jones) Cloud in 2006, brother Manus L. Wright and sister Reba Ann (Wright) Gunther Staley, both of Tennessee, and sister Aliean (Wright) Jones of Gaston, Indiana as well as stepson Randy Fields of Crothersville IN.

Friends may call on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 4 to 8 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A funeral to celebrate Clenis’ life will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
