Man faces drug charges after traffic stop

MCCORDSVILLE — A traffic stop earlier this week led to the arrest of an Indianapolis man who now faces multiple felony drug charges.

Woodrow Scott Muse, 46, 4600 block of West 81st Place, has been arrested and charged with a Level 2 felony count of dealing methampheteamine; a Level 3 felony count of possession of meth; four Level 6 felony counts; and two misdemeanors

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Monday, Jan. 18, McCordsville Police Department officers checked a vehicle that had pulled into the Meijer gas station, 6931 West Broadway, after the driver of the car had stayed in the turn lane an for extended amount of time.

A license plate check on the car showed Muse had a suspended license and that he also had drug-related arrests. A K-9 officer was brought in, and the dog detected the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

A search located a backpack with multiple types of pills and a lockbox and drug paraphernalia in the trunk. When officers opened the lockbox, they found a large number of plastic bags, a digital scale and a a variety of pills. Police also found three plastic bags containing a rocklike substance, later identified as methamphetamine; and four plastic bags of a green, plantlike substance that tested positive for marijuana.

The pills were preliminarily identified as Lisinopril and and sildenafil citrate, which are prescription medications.

Muse has an initial hearing set for today (Thursday, Jan. 21) in Hancock County Superior Court 1 in front of Judge D.J. Davis. He was being held without in the county jail on Wednesday.
