Summer sports camps are approaching beginning next month. Below is a listing of Hancock County sports camp opportunities for kids interested in improving their skills.
Baseball
Greenfield-Central youth
Dates: (ages 9 to 12) June 19 through 22 and (ages 13 to 14) June 26 through 29
Location: Molinder Field at GCHS, 810 N. Broadway, Greenfield
Age: 9 to 14
Cost: $35 before June 15 and $45 after June 15
Description: The 2017 Cougar Baseball Summer Fundamental Camp is planned for players of all skill levels who enjoy playing baseball. Current Cougars coaches along with current and former players will assist with instruction and leadership over the eight scheduled days. Emphasis on learning skills to help each camper be better prepared for high school baseball will be a priority.

Basketball
Eastern Hancock boys
Dates: June 12 through 15
Location: Eastern Hancock High School, 10320 E. County Road 250N, Charlottesville
Age: 6th through 8th grade
Cost: $50
Description: Camp focusing on developing skills that can be worked on throughout the summer.

Royals Elementary boys
Dates: June 19 through 22, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Eastern Hancock Elementary School, 10450 E. County Road 250N, Charlottesville
Age: Kindergarten through 5th grade

Description: Camp day is broken down into athletic development, basketball skills and competition.

Father-son clinic
Date: July 6 and 10 (7:30 p.m.)
Location: Eastern Hancock Elementary School, 10450 E. County Road 250N, Charlottesville
Age: Boys age kindergarten through 5th grade
Cost: $20 for first child, $10 for additional children
Description: This special clinic presents fathers and sons the opportunity to work on the game of basketball together.

Mt. Vernon Boys Basketball Camp
Dates: June 5 to 9
Location: Mt. Vernon High School main gym, 8112 N. County Road 250W, Fortville
Age: Kindergarten through 2nd grade, 9 to 10:30 a.m.; 3rd through 5th grade, 10:30 a.m. to noon; 6th through 8th grade, 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $50 per camper ($30 for additional siblings)
