Historical Society presents election history program
GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Historical Society presents “The Election of 1948: When Truman Came to Greenfield” at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel in the Park, 28 Apple St. Dave Heller, former principal of Mt. Greenfield Elks Lodge hosts “Girls Night Out – the Show”
GREENFIELD – The Greenfield Elks Lodge, 820 S. State St., presents “Girls Night Out – the Show” at 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets for the Stripped Down 2017 performance are $20 in advance at girlsnightouttheshow.com and $28 at the door. VIP tickets are $60 and include premium seating, a t-shirt, an autographed photo and a meet-and-greet with the cast.
Library celebrates Women’s History Month with documentary film
GREENFIELD — In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Oscar-winning documentary, “20 Feet from Stardom,” at 7 p.m. March 27. The film, directed by Morgan Neville, shines a spotlight on the women who sing back-up for some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century including Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger and Sting. History Center offers free admission for Circus Day
INDIANAPOLIS — Families can step right up to enjoy free admission, live performances from the Hampel Family Circus and hands-on activities at Circus Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 25 at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, 450 W. Ohio St. Activities include an animal show from the Amazing World of Animals, face painting, balloon sculptures, crafts, popcorn, candy and snow cones. Game and refreshment tickets are 50 cents each. NCAA fencing championships feature sharp competition
INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA fencing championships lunge into Indianapolis March 23 through 26 at the Indiana Farmers’ Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St. Spectators can watch men’s and women’s competition and learn the difference between sabre, foil and epee fencing styles.
